While California is going bankrupt, one business is booming. „How Weed Won the West“ is the story of the growing medical cannabis / marijuana industry in the greater Los Angeles area, with over 700 dispensaries doling out the buds. As a treatment for conditions ranging from cancer and AIDS, to anxiety, ADHD, and insomnia, cannabis is quickly proving itself as a healthier natural alternative to many prescription drugs.

Following the story of Organica, a southland dispensary which was raided by state and federal agencies in August of 2009, the film shows that although much has changed with Obama in office, the drug war is nowhere near over. Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
in ihrem Bericht erwähnen Sie zum wiederholten mal “genmanipuliertes Cannabis” bzw “genmanipulierte Cannabissamen”.

Bitte überprüfen Sie diese Information und nennen Sie mir eine Quelle die die Existenz von genmanipuliertem Cannabis beweist. Denn es ist meines Wissens weltweit noch nie Cannabis genmanipuliert worden, weder zur Optimierung als Fasernutzpflanze oder als THC-Lieferant. Die Steigerung des THC-Gehalts ist nur auf die normale Züchtung durch Nutzung der mendelschen Regeln per gezielter Selektion natürlicher Mutation zurückzuführen. Diese Technik nutzt der Mensch seit tausenden von Jahren bei jeder Nutzpflanze und bei jedem Nutztier.

Bei Genmanipulation handelt es sich um eine vollständig andere Technik, ein aufwendiges und teures High-Tech-Verfahren das erst seit wenigen Jahrzehnten und nur an wenigen Pflanzen und Tieren erfolgreich angewandt wird. Die Pflanze Cannabis gehört -noch- nicht dazu.

Bitte beachten Sie daß gerade beim sensiblen Thema Drogen solche Falschinformation ganz besonders die Glaubwürdigkeit der Presse und Behörden untergraben.
Wer Jugendliche vom Drogenkonsum fernhalten will, braucht richtige und beweisbare Argumente, sonst geht der Schuß nach hinten los.

Dazu aus einem taz-Artikel eine Stellungnahme des Deutschen Hanfverbands:

Georg Wurth vom Deutschen Hanf Verband bezeichnet das als “absoluten Blödsinn”: Immer wieder tauchten solche Behauptungen auf, die dann einfach übernommen werden. “Dabei ist es sinnlos, die Quantität beim Cannabis-Anbau durch Genmanipulation zu erhöhen”, sagte Wurth.

Auf Nachfrage gibt Frank Scheulen (LKA),, der vom Spiegel zitiert wurde, zu: “Die Aussage über genmanipuliertes Saatgut wurde generell getroffen und von anderen Stellen wohl wissenschaftlich erhoben, nicht vom LKA.” Generell getroffen? Also nicht bestätigt? Vielleicht wird dieses Gerücht nur von offiziellen Stellen gestreut, um den Konsum in Deutschland zu senken. Denn Kiffer glauben gerne, ein ökologisches Produkt zu konsumieren.
